graphics - the basic design challenge
Here is where the creativity can be shown especially much. Infographics need to illustreate a whole story by just glimpsing at them - similarly, logos represent a whole company, organization,  band or publication and have much to do with the success and corporate identity of these ventures.
With the info graphics published in the FHSU Leader, I reached the 3rd place at the  2004 Kansas Associate Collegiate Press Conference in Wichita in the info graphics category. Furthermore I was awarded the "Best new Graphic Artist" Award by the Fort Hays State University newspaper - "The Leader".
Mainly I use Photoshop for these graphics - which I am really comfortable with and I consider myself a pro in. For vector graphics i usually prefer Coren Draw. Also I occasionally use numerous other little tools for special techniques and tasks like animating graphics, etc.
